Our manufacturing capacity is 6” to 36” diameter. All work is done on professionally made high quality optical machinery.

In shop null testing, hand corrected to exacting tolerances. Our mirrors are guaranteed to perform to theoretical limits. Please refer to our interferometry page for addition information about testing.

Primary mirrors are center spotted at no cost upon request including Catseye triangle, Catseye hot spot and the “binder” ring. We can also apply any other that you provide.

 Due to fluctuations in material costs beyond our control, all quotations are good for 45 days.

All of our primary mirrors come with interferogram(s) and data analysis.

We are producing primary mirrors from 12.5" to 36" at competitive
prices. Quartz, Zerodur and Astrositall substrates are ideal for imaging
systems where the focus shift from expansion/contraction of BK-7,
Borofloat or even Pyrex is highly undesirable. The Quartz supply has
gotten a bit tight and prices are up for the raw material. Pyrex as well as
other competing Borofloat glasses are plentiful and the raw material
prices have stabilized though do to high energy costs to produce we will
probably never see inexpensive substrate material again.

Each and every primary mirror is given meticulous attention to detail,
from the precise diamond bevels to the pain-staking hand correction to
the time-consuming interferometric testing. Figuring is done with double
pass auto collimation and final figuring & documentation is done with
Ross-Nulling (single pass) test setups. The back surface is precision
ground flat.

Another added bonus that others charge extra for: All of our primary
mirrors have enhanced aluminum coatings included in the price, other
coatings are available if required.

Other substrates, sizes and focal ratios are available, please inquire with your specific needs. There maybe times when our work load may require us to turn away orders. We will not take an order that we can’t do within a realistic time frame and/or we will not take on any work if we do not have the time necessary to do the job right.
