Custom Refiguring Services

We will first evaluate your optic after we receive it and provide you with our findings and address whether or not you need any additional services. 

With our basic service, we will test your elliptical (with our Zygo interferometer) for flatness. Your primary mirror will be inspected under a double pass null test to check for zones and overall correction. The primary will also be inspected at Radius with a high-powered eyepiece and pinhole for astigmatism and trefoil. Price will be based on what work might be required. No data pages are provided but a written report will be included for your files. This service should satisfy most who may have questions about their optics but not necessarily the experience to know.

Your optics will get everything that is included in our basic service PLUS interferometric data pages (after any work that we may do) for both primary and elliptical. PLUS attention to bevel detail both front and back, any surface quality issues that maybe present. Optical test setups (interferometer & double-pass null) will be dedicated just to your optic until it is completed and has passed all tests.

This service can also include re-grinding and re-polishing, when necessary, this could apply to both front and back surface (fine grinding).

This service is for the seasoned observer who wants a dedicated first-rate set of optics. This would be an opportunity to get that long overdue tune up.

That's a good question. It is almost impossible to quote something when it is not in our shop for a complete inspection. So, a certain amount of trust as well as respect is required, we have 48 years of continuous optical manufacturing experience. Our pledge is, we will never do any work that is not necessary. We are here to only provide you with the absolute best possible optics.
